PULSE Update - September 2026
Bug Fixes
- Corrected DIM calculations in Reproduction Insights: Fixed incorrect maximum and average days in milk (DIM) values in the Time of First Breeding analysis within Reproduction InsightsReproduction Insights.
- Breeding code now displays correctly in event detail view: The BRCOD field (breeding code: standing, ovsync, SenseHub, etc.) now displays correctly when you open an individual breeding event.
- All4Hooves integration milk withhold date errors resolved: Fixed held commands caused by invalid default milk withholding dates (such as October 1961) coming through the PULSE All4Hooves integration for DairyComp Unlimited dairies.

MYDC ONLYReport History filter no longer deselects all options: Unchecking a single option in the Filter by Report Type dropdown no longer clears all other previously selected options for MyDC dairies.
PULSE Update - August 2026
NEW FEATURE Streamline feed management using WeighComp Contracts: Managing feed contracts just got easier with the new Contracts feature in WeighComp. This optional feature is designed for dairies that purchase ingredients from third-party suppliers and need to track one or more supplier agreements.
Create, track, and assign contracts directly in PULSE, eliminating the need for manual spreadsheets or paper tracking. Manually tracking these agreements can be time-consuming and prone to errors. Use Contracts to keep fulfillment records centralized, accurate, and up-to-date:
- Reduce manual entry: Automatically import Dry Matter (DM) and cost details when you link a load to a contract.
- Improve accuracy: View a running balance of remaining tons to ensure every contract is fulfilled at the agreed-upon price.
- Centralize data: Manage all vendor, product, and pricing details in one place for better reporting and reconciliation.

Bug Fixes
- Improved animal count accuracy: Fixed an issue where animal count jobs failed due to long serial numbers. This fix maintains current herd data.
- Resolved genetics trait sync failures: Fixed a data sync failure for Zoetis traits. This update confirms genetic information reflects accurately in the platform.
PULSE Update - July 2026
NEW FEATURE Transfer animals between PULSE dairies: We’ve streamlined moving animals between PULSE-connected dairies. The new Transfer Animals feature allows you to send full animal histories—including health events, breedings, and pedigree data—directly from one PULSE dairy to another. This replaces manual data entry and ensures the receiving dairy has complete records from day one. When a transfer is sent, PULSE sends a real-time notification to the receiving dairy showing the exact number of pending records.
- Automated workflows: Kick off transfers automatically by selecting the Sold to another dairy disposal code when marking animals as SOLD.
- Smart mapping: Map events from the sender dairy to your own event codes to maintain consistent records.
- Data integrity: Built-in validation checks identify duplicate animal IDs or items before the transfer is finalized.
- Real-time notifications: Receive email or PULSE alerts when a new transfer is pending your approval.

Enhancements
- Animal list selection: You can now select all animals in a list with a single click. This allows for faster batch processing during transfers or other bulk actions.
Bug Fixes
- Milk weight dates: Resolved a one-day offset issue for milk weights.
- DC on Mobile FRESH events: FRESH events entered from DC on Mobile worklists are now being fully recorded in PULSE.
- Worklist counters: Fixed a discrepancy where worklist summary counters did not match the actual Todo and Done counts.
- Integration Gallery: Resolved a flow where deselecting pens would not be applied for an integration.
- Mobile event statements: Addressed an issue with event definition statements being cut off in REM picklists in DC on Mobile.
PULSE Update - June 2026
NEW FEATURE 305AA metrics for modern herd projections: VAS now supports the new 305-Average Age (305AA) yield metric from the CDCB and USDA. This update replaces the 30-year-old "Mature Equivalent" (ME) model with adjustments based on modern genetics, management, and climate data. By using 305AA, you get a more accurate comparison of your cows' performance because the system standardizes all animals to a modern 36-month baseline.
If your dairy receives DRPC testday reports, you can now add these items to your CowCards and Testday tables:
- 305AA & AA305: Projected 305-day yields based on testday and daily milk data.
- 305AA Fat & Protein: Age-adjusted component production (PULSE only).
305AA & AA305 are also available in DairyComp for PULSE-connected herds. While 305AA provides the most current projection data, DairyComp continues to use 305ME for CowVAL and RELV calculations for now.

Improvements
- Localization added: Japanese is now supported in PULSE web.
Bug Fixes
- Date fixes:
- Resolved an issue where birthdates and fresh dates shifted by one day in certain forms and integrations.
- Event dates now use the dairy's local time instead of the user's local time for better record consistency.
- Corrected the Report Date filter to ensure reports accurately reflect your selected timeframes.
- Integration Status indicator fix: Corrected the integration status indicator to ensure it displays correctly.
- Stability improvements: Addressed a crash on the HealthVAL page and fixed an error that occurred when selecting Required Info in the Animal side panel.
- Pen handling: The system now preserves PULSE-only pens more consistently during data reloads to maintain your pen assignments.
PULSE Update - May 2026
NEW FEATURE WeighComp Adjusted Tonnage Report: Use the new Adjusted Tonnage report to quickly view or print the actual weight of feed corrected for dry matter content and environmental factors, such as moisture gain or loss during harvesting, storage, and handling. For instance, you may need to make an adjustment to account for extra moisture from rain, or drier conditions on windy days. The adjustment ensures that the tonnage reflects the true nutritional value rather than the “as-fed” weight. This report also automates and simplifies calculations when paying growers for feed or charging customers for crops from your harvest.

ENHANCEMENT WeighComp load mileage: Managing your harvests just got a little easier! If your trucking partners charge for mileage, you can now add those details to harvest loads.

Bug Fixes
- User Invitations: Fixed an issue where new users were getting stuck on the agreement page after accepting an invitation.
- Dairy Settings: The unit selector (Imperial/Metric) in Dairy Settings now correctly reflects and saves your selection.
- Sire Data: Fixed a critical issue where sexed bulls (NAAB codes 501/601) were being incorrectly synced as "unsexed."
- Embryo Transfers: Embryo data (sire, dam, age) now correctly auto-populates during TRANSFER events on web and mobile without validation errors.
- Task Lists: Prevented the SOLD event from being selectable for animals that are already marked as SOLD or DIED.
- Time zones: Formatted event dates now correctly consider Daylight Saving Time based on the dairy's time zone.
- Pagination: Fixed the My Dairies page pagination to correctly display more than 99 results.
PULSE Update - February 2026
ENHANCEMENT New Culling Rate HerdSights KPIs added: The new Culling Rate KPIs provide a snapshot of how quickly animals are leaving your herd over time. These insights help you monitor herd turnover and track current rates with historical trends, making it easier for you to evaluate management practices and plan for future herd productivity.
Go to your HerdSights and Build Views to capture your culling rate details.
Bug Fixes
- WeighComp DM% and cost corrections: Multiple fixes to DM% and DM cost/ton fixes were made in the user interface and in PULSE calculations, including data coming from FeedWatch or FeedComp. Also, transactions can now be entered with a "0" (zero) cost.
- Zoetis CowCard fix: Trait data now displays as expected on the CowCard Genomics tab.
- ParlorBoss Empty Stalls per Day Report fix: The summary row at the top of the report now shows accurate data.

MYDC ONLYShared Files upload: Files on all tabs are now stored as expected and do not unexpectedly get deleted when uploading a new file.

MYDC ONLYCowCard Pedigree updates: You no longer need to refresh the page to see updates you made to an animal's CowCard Pedigree tab.

MYDC ONLYAdd Animal date fix: When adding animals, the entered dates are being saved as expected and are no longer resetting to yesterday.

PULSE Update - December 2025
NEW FEATURE HerdSights bring you custom insights!
VAS is thrilled to introduce HerdSights, our latest insights tool that allows you to build custom views of your herd's data. We know that managing a dairy means tracking countless details—herd health, reproduction, feed efficiency, costs. Instead of creating your own spreadsheets or other tools to track these numbers, you can now use HerdSights views and dashboards as your new hub for all dairy data and specific KPIs. ENHANCEMENT MYDC ONLY Add milk weights for unidentified animals to the correct date. MyDC dairies with parlor integrations now show milk weights for the correct date when an animal is not identified in the parlor. This improvement helps capture accurate milk weight data for animals that are later identified.
Other Improvements & Bug Fixes
- Embryo import improvement: PULSE now allows for the import of embryos with the same straw number if the embryos have different fertilization dates.
- Embryo transfers for heifers: PULSE now supports adding an embryo transfer to heifers after a recorded ABORT event and keeps the lactation number at 0.
- Sire validation fix: If a sire name exceeds the 16-character limit when adding a TRANSFER event, PULSE now displays an error.
- Embryo import date fixes: Resolved an issue where fertilization or transferred dates were being removed or imported incorrectly.
- Embryo print/export fix: Your data is no longer truncated when printing and exporting embryo inventory, transferred, and results tabs.
- ParlorBoss edit option: You can now adjust your parlor details in ParlorBoss using the Edit Parlor option.
- LastTreatmentDate fix: Resolved an issue that caused the Last Treatment Date to show the wrong date following daylight savings time adjustments.
MYDC ONLY Bug Fixes
- ABORT batch entry fix: Batch entry for ABORT events now works as expected when selecting to continue the current lactation.
- Breeding sire fix: PULSE no longer prompts for a breeding sire ID when adding animals that are not BRED or PREG.
- Dairy Protocols translation fix: The Dairy Protocols page now displays as expected in languages other than English.
- Nedap Now milk weights fix: Milk weights from Nedap Now are now being received and shown in PULSE as expected.
