CattleEye turns your basic security camera into a powerful identification and monitoring tool that checks for lameness when your animals enter or leave the parlor. These measurements provide valuable insights into the health of each animal, and are shared on your animals’ CowCards in the VAS PULSE Platform after each parlor visit.
The PULSE Platform displays CattleEye locomotion score and alert data in individual animal CowCards on the Partners tab. Scores and alerts are available in the Measurements widget for each visit to the milking parlor for up to 180 days.

To use CattleEye all you need to do is mount a basic low cost security camera over the entrance or exit race of a milking parlor and connect this to the Internet. The system will then start learning how to uniquely identify your cows, monitoring lameness and body condition scores and an increasing number of other behaviors. These insights will then appear automatically on your VAS cow card. Any lame cows will be notified to the VAS platform and will then be downloaded onto your DairyComp trim list. This gives you the opportunity to have your hoof trimmer treat the lameness problems. Research has shown that utilizing the CattleEye insights and treating these animals can save you $100 USD per cow per year as well as improving welfare standards on your herd and across the global dairy industry.
