What's Your Dairy 'Why' | Sydney Endres
Sydney Endres is devoted to dairy. As a farmer herself, she knows how much the industry collectively focuses on building a sustainable future, and she wants to be a part of it! “We are continuously learning more about the dairy cow and how we can raise her better, learning and investing in technologies that make the farm more efficient and sustainable, passing skills and life lessons on to the younger generation, and taking care of land so it lasts for many years to come,” Sydney notes.
When she’s not managing the finances, employees and herd health at her family’s 700-cow dairy, Jazzy Jerseys in Lodi, Wisconsin, Sydney keeps busy with a multitude of other commitments in the industry. Sydney works part-time for the American Jersey Cattle Association as an Area Representative and Type Traits Appraiser and serves as the Young Farmer and Agriculturalist chair for the Columbia County Farm Bureau.
Any spare moment Sydney has is spent educating others about her farm, the dairy industry or agriculture overall. She serves as the committee chair for Cows on the Concourse, an event that kicks off June Dairy Month each year by bringing cows to consumers in downtown Madison. She enjoys teaching others by helping them draw parallels between dairy and things they may already be familiar with in their own everyday lives. Sydney remarks, “These conversations continually bring me joy and remind me why I love doing what I do.”
