DairyComp updates you need to know heading into 2026
The start of a new year is a natural time to step back and reflect. It’s also a chance to pause and ask some important questions about your herd management: What’s working well? Where are we losing time or efficiency? And what opportunities are being left on the table?
Often, the answers are closer than you think. With the right tools and approach, small decisions made today can pay off in a big way over time. In a recent webinar, our team walked through the latest updates across DairyComp. Here’s how you can put those tools to work to manage smarter in 2026.
Bring efficiency to your routine
One of the first places to start when looking for opportunities for improvement are your workflows. How much time do routine tasks take each day, week or month? Are employees walking barns to find cows? Does vet check require extra people or extra steps?
Time is the most precious (and fleeting) resource on a dairy. When routine work takes longer than it needs to, that’s when mobile tools can make a real difference. “With mobile, there’s endless options as to what you can do cowside, in the barn, in the tractor or connecting with an RFID scanner to be able to accomplish those day-to-day tasks in a really efficient manner,” says Meagan Young, VAS voice of customer program manager.
Pocket CowCard, for example, enables your team to complete tasks in a more streamlined approach while reducing the extra paperwork and eliminating double data entry. With the new merged worklists feature, you can combine multiple worklists – such as to-do, vet and hospital lists – into a single workflow. Cows’ EIDs are scanned once and all tasks can be completed and recorded in one go, meaning everything gets done and no cows get missed… even on the busy days.
Explore new DairyComp features
DairyComp is constantly evolving to meet the needs of modern dairy producers. The latest updates are all about making the system feel more intuitive, connected and accessible for users of any experience level. And they’re already included in your DairyComp subscription. Give these new features a try in 2026:
Assist
With Assist, you no longer need to remember exact commands to tap into the power of DairyComp. Just start typing in the command line and suggestions will appear, allowing you to quickly generate reports, lists and other data – quicker and easier than ever.
Connection Status
If you have multiple technologies integrated with DairyComp, like Pocket CowCard or VAS PULSE Platform, the Connection Status dashboard is a must. Color-coded indicators and alerts show whether your connections are functioning properly or need attention, allowing you to address potential issues before workflows or data is impacted.
Integrated Help
Integrated Help brings support documentation directly into DairyComp, giving you answers where and when you need them. Instead of searching online or opening a separate browser tab, you can now access relevant help documentation right where you’re working. This makes it easier to troubleshoot questions, learn as you go and explore DairyComp’s limitless capabilities.
Look at your data in a new way with PULSE Platform
VAS PULSE Platform is becoming a favorite among producers for its interactive dashboards and cloud-based accessibility, meaning herd data is accessible from anywhere, on any device. It brings herd data together in one, user-friendly platform, including from more than 50 integration partners, and other VAS software like FeedComp and WeighComp, giving you a clear view of what’s happening across different management areas on the farm.
With tools like HerdSights, users can view real-time dashboards that highlight key metrics around inventory, milk production, health and more. Dashboards are customizable, allowing you to focus on what matters most to your operation while keeping the entire team aligned around the same data and goals.
If your herd uses ParlorBoss, you’ll also find new rotary parlor reports in PULSE Platform. These reports help identify opportunities to improve parlor and labor efficiency, tracking metrics like:
Turns per day
Individual shift metrics
Parlor speed
Empty stalls per day
Cows and tasks scanned vs expected
Cows with multiple trips or in the wrong pen
…and more
