VAS is reimagining the way farmers manage their embryo programs with ongoing enhancements to the embryo management module in VAS PULSE Platform, available to DairyComp and MyDC on PULSE users. Managing embryo inventory
PULSE Platform provides a centralized location to manage embryos, saving time and ensuring records stay accurate and organized. Using batch entry on a desktop, efficiently enter multiple embryos by downloading the template available in PULSE Platform and populating with the embryos’ details. The harvested embryos instantly appear in your PULSE Platform Embryo Inventory after uploading the completed list.
If preferred, you can also use VAS’ mobile app to add embryos individually, from anywhere.
“We’re making it easier than ever for users to manage their embryo inventory thanks to our new batch upload functionality, which allows farmers to add multiple embryos at once,” says Craig Lew, VAS Product Manager.
Users can manage individual embryo data including:
- Sire
- Donor
- Breed
- Fertilization Date
- Type (flush vs. IVF)
- Embryo Stage
- Embryo Grade
- And more depending on if your embryo is fresh or frozen
Efficiently record transfers
PULSE Platform goes beyond inventory tracking, allowing you to follow an embryo through its lifespan. Once an embryo has been transferred, updating its status in PULSE Platform is as simple as entering a TRANSFER event. This automatically moves the embryo to the Transferred tab and updates the breeding information on the recipient’s CowCard, keeping everything accurate without spending time re-entering data in multiple places.

Gauging embryo program success
Once the recipient is checked and confirmed pregnant in DairyComp or PULSE Platform, their embryo gets promoted to the new Results tab. Here, easily gauge the performance of your embryo program with clear, at-a-glance metrics like confirmed pregnancies, live born calves, overall losses (including unsuccessful, aborted and DOA calves) and more. Narrow down your results even further by clicking on an individual embryo ID or using the Filters tool to sort your data by recipient, sire, donor, result or date range.
