Pocket CowCard (PCC) is the mobile companion to DairyComp, commonly used by technicians entering breedings cow side. PCC offers two entry methods depending on whether you're breeding one cow or a group.

## Single BRED Event Entry

1. In PocketCowCard (PCC), tap on the cow number being bred.
2. Tap on **New Event** at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap on **BRED** (usually located in the middle row near the top).
4. Enter the **Date** (date of the breeding).
5. Enter the **Tech&#x20;**(breeding technician)**.**
6. Enter the **ServSire** (service sire)
7. Enter the **BredCod** (breeding code)
8. Tap "**Accept**" when finished.

## Breeding Grid Batch&#x20;

1. In Pocket CowCard (PCC) tap on the **Batch** tab located at the top of the home screen.
2. Tap on **Breeding Grid Batch**.
3. Tap on the white boxes to enter the cow **ID**, **SIRE**, **BC** (breeding code) and **TC** (technician).
4. Click on **Post** when finished entering the cows being bred, or when a grid is full. Post does not send changes to DairyComp.&#x20;
5. From the Home screen, tap on **Send Changes to DC305**.

⚠&#xFE0F;**&#x20;IMPORTANT:&#x20;**&#x53;end changes to DC305 **daily** to keep data current in DairyComp.

💡**TIP:** **Adjust** **Breeding Grid Rows up to 400!**

- From the Home screen in Pocket CowCard, tap on the **settings icon** in the top right corner.
- Under the **Settings** tab, scroll down to **Rows in Breeding Grid** and select the number of rows from the dropdown menu.
:::

## Quick Fill with Batch Entry

While using the Breeding Grid batch entry, users can streamline data entry by using the Quick Fill function key.

1. Enter the cow's ID in the first column.
2. Enter the SIRE, BC and TC for the first cow.&#x20;
3. Tap on **Fill** to enter the <u>same</u> SIRE, BC and/or TC for the remaining cows.&#x20;
4. Adjust any individual values that differ.

💡**TIP:** **Fill** works well when the cows added to the breeding grid were bred to the same sire, received the same breeding code or were bred by the same technician. Users can use the **Fill** function for only one column if needed.&#x20;

For example, the cows entered on the breeding grid were all bred by the same technician, but different sires and breeding codes were used. The user would only tap on **Fill** after entering the technician for the first cow.

## Setting Up Quick Pick Sires

Quick Pick Sires make it easier for breeders to select the correct sire when entering the BRED event.

Follow these steps to add Quick Pick Sires:

1. Enter **SERVER\3** on the command line.
2. Click on the **PCC Entry** tab.
3. In the bottom right corner under "**Pick From**", select one of the two options.&#x20;
   - **Sires List**
   - **Semen Inv. List:&#x20;**&#x20;Semen Inventory setup is required first to use this option.
4. Click on the sire to add from the list. You should now see it in the Breeding Quick Pick Sire List.
   - If needed, right click on a sire to remove it from the Breeding Quick Pick List.
5. Refresh Pocket CowCard (PCC) to add the changes to your device.
